CST300 – Module 0
The journey of the 100-week completion of the CS program has started already. This an exciting time to learn and preserve to the end. For the past two weeks, I have been exploring the CSUMB website and reading about the student resources and the CS program. On December 16, 2023, faculty, professors, and instructors hosted the mandatory online orientation to introduce one another, share information, and explain the entire program. I have been in contact with Kayla Rolicheck, the CS online academic Advisor; I am grateful for her efforts before and during the admission process.
In Module 0, one of the goals was to meet with the team members and establish a weekly audio/video conference. The first meeting went well, and we discussed the first team assignment, a team resume. The team resume is an engaging assignment that brings team members together right at the beginning of the program. Our team was able to share ideas to finalize and submit the resume for grading effectively. The second part of this assignment is analyzing another team's resume and providing constructive feedback. I believe this was a good assignment that helped reinforce team collaboration.
Although I am familiar with the CANVAS LMS platform and its features, I reviewed the material again. In the Module 0 weekly materials, the significance of time management is emphasized to succeed in the CST300 8-week course. Therefore, it was essential to review the entire syllabus to take mental notes of the upcoming main activities and develop the weekly study plan. For example, I found the document titled 'How to Be Successful in Writing Lab' very useful for referencing the two research papers in this class: Industry Analysis and Ethics Argument Essay. The takeaway is to plan ahead by gaining insight and the full picture of the course structure.
